When it comes to paying for plumbing education, it’s often hard to figure out the total cost of an individual’s training program. There are many variables involved, and the price of many of them vary depending on which state you live in, and what type of training you are pursuing. 1 - Your license

If you live in a state that requires that plumbers have a license, you’ll have to pay for the licensing exam at the end of your training. You’ll also have to pay to renew your license every two years or so.

2 - Your apprenticeship

Apprenticeship programs for plumbers are usually not free. You’ll have to pay a fee every month or every semester to keep going and help fund the program. The good news is that most plumbers get paid apprenticeships, so you should be able to pay those fees and still make a profit.

3 - Your education

Plumber training can be obtained online, through certificate programs, or via associate’s degrees. The latter is usually the most expensive option, but also the one that offers the most qualification. The good news is that the wealth of training options will let you shop around for the one that fits your budget.
