No matter how well off or how poor the family situation is, I believe it is so important for every teenager going through high school (or about to go to college) to have a job at least one point in their lives.

The job could just be as simple as babysitting or working at your parent's car shop. The important thing is for teenagers to understand the responsibility that they have to take on in order for them to succeed in life. The money and time management teens would have to put in in order to manage school work, social life AND a job would be stressful but so beneficial to how they manage their life in the future.

Not only that, understanding that they have to work for something that they want (money or anything materialistic) is such an important concept as many parents tend to just spoil their children and give them whatever they want whenever they want it, which would result in the teens being completely financially dependent on their parents, even when they grow up and go off to college.

Even though the money earned from the job of a teen probably isn't enough to pay for anything but small things the teens want to spend their money on, but nonetheless it's better than giving the teen allowance and them taking it for granted.

Getting a job is a really important part of growing up, but it should be the focus of a teen's (aka a student's) life, as their role at the moment is to learn, and getting a job should not become an obstacle of learning.
